The Department of Molecular Biosciences is proud to present its 2021 Symposium entitled "It Takes Two to Tango: RNA and DNA in Genome Integrity". Recent studies at the intersection of RNA biology and DNA repair have revealed that transcription and RNAs play important but still poorly understood roles in DNA metabolism. The MBS 2021 Symposium is focused on exploring this emergent topic including how RNAs regulate DNA-mediated events that impact normal cellular states and human diseases. The 2021 MBS Symposium includes 8 invited speakers who will share their insights into R-loop regulation, effects of transcription on DNA repair, nucleolar biology, and genome integrity in cancer. In addition, there will be 3 speaking slots open for trainees to share their results, as well as an informal "Meet the Speakers" event at the end of the program.
