As we approach 60 years since the BACR was founded, an ever increasing number of cancer therapeutics are becoming available and dramatic clinical responses are being achieved in subsets of patients with previously intractable disease. This meeting will bring together cancer researchers from academia and industry to focus on two research topics that are fundamental to ensuring that both established and novel treatments can be applied to bring maximum benefit for cancer patients:

(1) How can we predict in advance which patients will benefit from a given treatment?
(2) How can we anticipate, monitor and prevent the evolution of drug resistance in cancer?

We have an exceptional line-up of internationally-renowned invited speakers, covering the discovery of novel targets and resistance mechanisms in cancer cells, to analysis of the tumour microenvironment, the clinical development of immunotherapies and the use of liquid biopsies for disease monitoring.

This meeting is a follow up to our successful 2018 meeting and will once again be held on the beautiful University of Kent campus, just outside the historic city of Canterbury (a 50 minute train journey from London St Pancras). We will again offer plenty of opportunities to students and early-career researchers to present their work in selected talks and at the networking / poster sessions.
